Biography[]

Early History[]

Known to many as Jules, she is said to be the most powerful naturalist that Wolf Spring has ever had in over sixty years. She has a cougar/mountain cat named Camden as a familiar. She was born on the night of Beltane and was found to be legion-cursed, a person with two gifts. She has both the naturalist and the war gift, both as strong as a queen's gift. Legion-cursed often go mad and never survive for long.

Before Jules was born, the Milones had called for an oracle to give her prophecy. The first was that she was legion-cursed and that she should be either drowned or left in the woods for the animals to find. Such is the fate of legion-cursed infants in the island. But the oracle saw another prophecy, that Jules will be the fall of the island. The Milones had the oracle silenced, and Madrigal made use of low magic to bind Jules's war gift so that it may not take over.

When she was born, her mother left her with her aunt, Caragh Milone, so she could go to the Mainland. Madrigal returned when Jules was nine.

A year or so later, Jules, Arsinoe, and Joseph Sandrin tried to escape Fennbirn, but failed and were caught by Natalia Arron. As punishment, Joseph was sent to live on the Mainland for five years and Jules was to be sent to the Black Cottage to be trained as the Midwife for the future queens. Her aunt Caragh spared Jules from this fate by taking her punishment for her.
